Staff
Susan d. GarveySusan has worked on behalf of nonprofit organizations for over thirty years as an executive, fundraiser and volunteer. Some of the organizations she has represented include; Inova Health System Foundation, Inova Kellar Center, Best Buddies Virginia, the Alzheimer’s Association and Cornerstones. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated the ability to foster meaningful connections and form partnerships with leaders in our community. Susan looks forward to bringing those connections to Shepherd’s Center of Oakton-Vienna and to making new partnerships while representing the mission; to provide services, personal enrichment and volunteer opportunities for adults 50 and over.
Susan and her husband, Thom, have worked as volunteers dedicated to helping others live their best lives. They have raised two beautiful daughters who are both working in their chosen professions. Her ninety-two-year-old Mom lives nearby and a family wedding is in the planning stages for 2019.

Irma Gennaro
Before joining the staff in January 2016, Irma was a volunteer for the last three years with marketing and development. She also was a member of both the Development and Fundraising Committees. Irma brings over twenty-five years' experience in Marketing & Development Management in the not-for-profit industry. She is thrilled to be able to help SCOV keep pace with the ever growing number of seniors in this area in need of SCOV services. Originally from NYC, she and her husband moved from New England to Virginia in 2008. Today, with a son and daughter in the DC area, two grandsons, volunteering for the Ayr Hill Garden Club, traveling, garden design and a plethora of new friends, she is one happy camper indeed.
