Susan d. Garvey
Executive Director

Susan has worked on behalf of nonprofit organizations for over thirty years as an executive, fundraiser and volunteer. Some of the organizations she has represented include; Inova Health System Foundation, Inova Kellar Center, Best Buddies Virginia, the Alzheimer’s Association and Cornerstones. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated the ability to foster meaningful connections and form partnerships with leaders in our community. Susan looks forward to bringing those connections to Shepherd’s Center of Oakton-Vienna and to making new partnerships while representing the mission; to provide services, personal enrichment and volunteer opportunities for adults 50 and over.

Susan and her husband, Thom, have worked as volunteers dedicated to helping others live their best lives. They have raised two beautiful daughters who are both working in their chosen professions. Her ninety-two-year-old Mom lives nearby and a family wedding is in the planning stages for 2019.
